Light leaks, also known as lens flare is the overexposure of lights within photos. It creates lines originating from the light source. It also creates a small bokeh effect with small balls of light when the light source is intense, such as the sun. Light leaks can also be caused by light entering the lens from the side, lens hoods are used to eliminate this effect.
